Tomorrow night I am running a one hour event that you can join from the comfort of your office, meeting room, living room or car that is on a subject that most people in business ignore to their peril.
You see most business owners I know have people pop in every day and they never, ever collect any visitor or shopper information. Tescos, for instance has collected and used customer information well for years and look at what a success they have made of it. See how they have weathered the storms – even though some have even been self made.
While others, like BHS, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Maplins, Mothercare, Toys ‘R’ Us and Woolworths to name a few are either seeking “advice” or are in administration. Costs too high? Or Sales too low? Could they have made more sales? Well of course, we have a rising population and some retail sectors are doing fantastically!
The same problems avoidably persist across all businesses small and large.
Many say they don’t like selling, don’t want to sell and don’t want to change their business models. They want customers to buy though. What they really mean is they don’t know how to sell. What’s worse they don’t have the means. No one it seems wants to take responsibility. This is to your advantage.
I like to help clients differentiate, not by design or concept: through sales.
One of the most upmarket marketers, the Richemont Group, a former client of mine sells the best. You would not describe Richemont as being “salesy” yet they sell some of the most highest priced watches.
Am I trying to sell you on something? Yes, of course!
My first hour is free. Plus I have a range of resources including a webinar on Wednesday night that is free too and you are welcome to join me.
Apart from Tescos only a jeweller (Tiffany &Co) has asked me for personal details and that was for insurance purposes. Amazingly that’s it.
Every business I know has good months and bad months.
If you collect customer information during the good months, you have the option to contact those customers during the tougher months. Seasons change, so there is always something new to offer.
It’s never too late to start and if you are already engaged in building your list, then my webinar (join by phone or computer) will be well worth review as your list is probably the most valuable thing you have. We both know you could be doing more with it.
As the delightful Zig Ziglar used to say “Timid salesman have skinny kids!”
Not looking after your list costs you in five ways. I will cover what they are. There are five reasons why it is difficult and I will cut through those for you too. There are five common mistakes that most make. There are also five keys you need to check that you know how to turn.
I will present problems and solutions, tools and concepts that you can apply in the first half hour. All in all this should be a fast thirty minutes. A second thirty minutes is reserved for questions and answers. Also, for all those that attend I have some goodies I will be sending to you by post afterwards.
This webinar is designed for business owners, entrepreneurs and anyone in business development who wants to get ahead and stay ahead.
If you can’t make it and are interested in the replay, register anyway and I will follow up automatically probably within 24 hours.
